Welcome to Baba Seahorse Baby and Toddler Swim School

Hello, Baba Seahorse currently offers Children Swimming Classes for babies and young children.

We teach swimming classes in the West Midlands for babies 0-2 years old, young toddlers 2-3 years old and young children 4-6 years old.  Our baby swimming classes are held at warm water swimming pools in Kidderminster, Worcestershire and Wolverhampton.

We are a STARFISH (www.sta.co.uk) recognised Swim School offering the official Water Safety Programme for Babies moving onto the First Series Awards for the toddlers.  Parents always enter the water with their children even with the older ones as some children are new to the water and prefer the security and reassurance of a parent beside them whilst they develop their confidence.

Baba Seahorse swim school aims to provide a fulfilling, fun and progressive structure for both parent and baby in their baby swimming class. This is a special time, a special place for you and your child.

Dave and Lulu are both fully qualified to teach baby, infants and adults swimming with the Swimming Teachers Association (STA), and are also NaRS trained in rescue and Basic Life Support for babies, juniors and adults - and are CRB checked with enhanced disclosure (for working with children and vulnerable adults too).

We are fully qualified and trained in Baby sumbersion techniques, as well as all other aspects of Swimming.  We are special needs trained as we respect that individuals have specific requirements and we regularly attend update sessions to maintain our teaching status.

Baby submersion is an important part of introducing babies to the aquatic environment although it is not our dominant focus.  It is important that both parent and their baby are equally relaxed and comfortable with their new environment and playmates before submersions take place.  With toddles we concentrate on 'breathing techniques' and that water is fun.

We also enjoy teaching children who have not been swimming before.  So please talk to us if your child is a toddler as we teach toddlers and young children even if they haven't been near a swimming pool before. With Baba Seahorse, the parent remains an active part of the classes and enters the water with their child - this helps to facilitate water confidence with older children who may be nervous.  This nurtures your relationship with your child whilst they learn their water confidence skills.... and of course, to learn to have fun.

Dave and Lulu both feel passionate about the health and well-being of individuals, and understand the great developmental advantages to be taken from within the swimming environment.  They have both worked actively for many years in the community as therapists, working with adults and children, including special needs children.
